In 2007, the intrepid desert Pennys quit their dead-end jobs, sold lock, stock, and barrel, and shipped east: Middle East, that is. They ended up in Al Ain, UAE, where Pops Penny teaches English Literature at the national university to ladies veiled and not, Moms mitigates autism one kid at a time, and the kidses go to school with Brits, Scots, Africans, Indians, Cymry, Irelanders, Arabs of varied provenance, Franks, Yanks, Aussies, Canucks, Teutons, Greeks, Fijians, Danes, Finns, and an Italian or two.
Here’s what we do, day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year. We’re glad you joined us on the roundabout.
Hello!
I love your pics and comments. So good to see you, and all looking so good. What an adventure you are having!
I’m glad you get to have this chance to see some of the amazing places of the world, and that you share it with us so we only have to pay for internet to see it!
I’m sure it’s nothing like being there, though!
love you all
Deborah
I love all the pictures of the beautiful places you have been, but I love to see all of you even more. Thanks dor putting some of those pictures up too. Jonah, does the Arabian tooth fairy pay well?
Thanks for putting some of those pictures up too.( I don’t see where to reclaim my comment and correct it)
Wow, I loved seeing all of this. I felt like I just got a wonderful education in so many these, the least of which are some new words I had to look up! I LOVED the pictures of all of you – Riley, Christopher and Jonah are so darling. And thanks, Jon, for the link to see all of these. You two are having a marvelous adventure and it’s so wonderful for your boys. What a great family and it so neat to see where you are and what you are doing. Wendy will always remain one of my favorites and you, Jon, are so amazing in your writing, etc. Thanks again! Love, Jane
